Why does art strike a chord with humans? I am thinking. I studied art in college, then taught others while creating art myself, and it is not difficult to make a living in the art world if you can provide what people want. However, I have learned that there are people in this world who do not. My way of thinking was completely changed when I encountered the works of outsider art (including those who are considered to be handicapped). They create art as if they were breathing, without a goal in mind. They are so pure that they might die if they stopped. I have learned so much from them that I decided to launch this project to give back. I hope that this movement will continue for 10 to 20 years as my students take over my work, and I also hope that I will be able to connect with my friends who will support me and make the world a kinder and more peaceful place.

Thirty years have passed since the opening of "Work Place I Love". Our motto has always been "to be active, vibrant, and relaxed in the community. We have been seeking for work that suits each member's needs, while being conscious of providing work that is connected to society as more as possible and that raises wages as much as possible. Recently, however, I have been attracted to their art, which is not directly related to work. It is my own sensitivity that attracts me to the work itself, and the reactions of people in the community who don't know them when they see their work. people who have seen the exhibition says that they were "cheered up," "very moved," or "who is the person who painted this? We also receive offers to display the paintings in other places. and have hung them in their bedrooms or study rooms. That is how attractive their paintings are. What makes their works so appealing is not that they are trying to create good paintings or to get recognition for their work, they are having fun creating them. Theyenjoy creating, and they are not caught up in preconceived notions. I secretly believe that the reason why their paintings are so attractive is because they are skilled at painting what they see and feel, without being bound by preconceived notions. It is also fascinating to see how they paint on the canvas with acrylic colors, crayons, magic markers, colored pencils, and various other painting materials. I take my hat off to them as they continue to evolve beyond the imagination of the staff. Through this booklet, we have been able to see their sometimes strong and free, sometimes vivid and fresh. I hope that the charm of these work. At times unprecedented and at times delicate, and their sensitivity will reach many people! I hope that their sensibility will be conveyed to many people. “ I love the work place” Kameda

Having my own dream of art for people with disabilities When I was a child, I loved to draw pictures and thought, "I want to work as a painter. I useed to dream of dreamed of entering an art college and studying in the future, but when I became an adult, however that dream fizzled out and I chose a completely different career in welfare. I could have chosen the means to make my dream come true if I had made the effort. Even if I had worked in the welfare sector and people with disabilities had similarly thought, "I want to make painting my career, when I thought about whether they could choose the means to make their dreams come true, I learned that the environment for this was extremely limited. I opened First Step to help create such an environment. After opening First Step, I realized that the talents of people with disabilities were being hidden, and that their talents and works were not being shown to the world. If this is the case, then we should increase the opportunities for as many people as possible to see them, regardless of the form of paintings, We have been supporting the commercialization of art using artworks since the opening of First Step. Our goal is to help people with disabilities realize their dreams by "turning what they love into a career. We hope to work together with the local community to promote understanding of art for people with disabilities.
